Time, rakʿahs, and Qunut in the individual Duha prayer

Question

What is the prescribed time for the Duha prayer and what is its prescribed number of rakʿahs? Is the Qunut supplication that is recited in the second rak’ah of the Dawn prayer restricted to group prayer, or may it be also recited when praying alone?

Answer

The time of the Duha prayer starts after the sun has risen high in the sky and extends to just before it reaches its zenith. It consists of four rak’ahs (prayer cycles) or more. The Prophet (may peace and blessings be upon him) prayed four rak’ahs of Duha prayer and would occasionally increase the number according to his wish.

The Qunut supplication recited in the second rak’ah of the Dawn prayer is not restricted to group prayer; it is a sunnah when praying alone.

And Allah Almighty knows best.
