Egypt’s Grand Mufti, Dr. Nazir Ayyad, paid a visit to Pope Tawadros II to extend his congratulations to him and to Christians on the occasion of Christmas, in the company of the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, H. E Dr. Ahmad Al-Tayyeb the Minister of Endowments, Dr. Usama Al-Azhari and a number of religious leaders.

During the visit, the Grand Mufti underscored the depth of fraternal bonds uniting the people of one nation and highlighted the importance of sharing religious occasions in reinforcing national unity and social cohesion.

For his part, Pope Tawadros II expressed his appreciation for the visit, affirming that it reflects the spirit of mutual respect and understanding and contributes to promoting the values of peace, harmony, and national solidarity among Egyptians.
