The Grand Mufti of Egypt, Dr. Nazir Ayyad, participated in the celebration held by the Ministry of Endowments on the occasion  of the Night of Mid-Sha‘ban and changing the direction of the Qibla.

The event, held at Misr Grand Mosque in the New Administrative Capital, was attended by senior officials and prominent scholars.

In his speech, the Grand Mufti emphasized that the change of the Qibla was a divine response to the Prophet's wish, where Allah’s will aligned with the Prophet’s desire, affirming his esteemed status. He also warned against the dangers of rumors and their role in distorting facts and undermining societies, citing the Quranic verse: "The foolish among the people will say, 'What has turned them away from their Qibla, which they used to face?'" (Quran 2:142).

Dr. Ayyad underscored that faith is not merely a declaration but a commitment reflected in one’s actions, quoting the verse: "We hear and we obey." (Quran 24:51)

In conclusion, the Grand Mufti supplicated Allah to protect Egypt, support its leaders, and restore Al-Aqsa Mosque to the Muslims.
