Egypt's Mufti Explores Scholarly Cooperation with High-Level Malaysian Delegation

His Eminence, Prof. Dr. Nazir Ayyad, Grand Mufti of Egypt and Secretary-General of the General Secretariat for Fatwa Authorities Worldwide, welcomed a high-level Malaysian delegation led by Dr. Luqman Abdullah, Mufti of the Federal Territories of Malaysia, to discuss strengthening fatwa collaboration and advancing mufti training programs in line with the latest academic standards.
The Grand Mufti reaffirmed Dar Al-Ifta’s commitment to fostering cooperation with Malaysia, emphasizing the exchange of expertise in fatwa issuance, the promotion of moderation, and efforts to counter extremist ideologies. The Malaysian delegation commended Dar Al-Ifta’s pivotal role in issuing accurate fatwas and training muftis through a rigorous scholarly approach.
At the meeting’s conclusion, Dr. Luqman extended an official invitation to the Grand Mufti to visit Malaysia and further enhance fatwa cooperation between the two nations. His Eminence welcomed the invitation, underscoring the importance of continued collaboration to advance sound religious understanding and reinforce the values of moderation.
