Egypt's Mufti Honors Women's Role on International Women's Day

The Grand Mufti of Egypt, President of the General Secretariat for Fatwa Authorities Worldwide, Dr. Nazir Ayyad, extended his congratulations to Egyptian, Arab, and global women on International Women's Day, emphasizing that celebrating women is a recognition of their invaluable status and vital role in shaping civilizations. He highlighted that women have always been a cornerstone of progress, contributing to education, upholding moral values, and driving societal transformations.
Citing notable examples, he mentioned Lady Khadijah (may Allah be pleased with her), who was the first to support the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and Lady 'Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), whose vast knowledge enriched Islamic scholarship. Dr. Ayyad also praised Egyptian women for their resilience in times of crisis and their active contributions to national development.
The Grand Mufti concluded by affirming that empowering women is not merely an option but a civilizational necessity. Far beyond being half of society in numbers, women are its intellect, conscience, and driving force toward a more prosperous and just future.
