In response to an official invitation extended by the Pakistani President, Egypt’s Grand Mufti, Dr. Shawki Allam, starts his official visit to Islamabad for the next several days.
During his visit, Dr. Allam will meet Pakistan’s President, Prime Minister and a number of religious and executive leaders. He will deliver the Friday sermon in Islamabad’s grand mosque and give the key speech in the conference titled “Combating Extremism” that will be held there.
From his part, the Senior Advisor to the Grand Mufti, Dr. Ibrahim Negm, stated in a news statement that Dr. Allam’s visit to Islamabad is important and comes at a crucial time as Pakistan recently witnesses an increase in the rate of terrorist attacks. “The visit includes exploring the means of religious cooperation and combating extremist ideologies and to benefit from Dar al-Ifta’s experience in this respect,” Dr. Negm added.
